FSAE EV Accumulator

High-voltage packaging for inspection, service, and safety

FSAE EV Accumulator project cover

Overview

The mechanical layout of a 600 V accumulator attic, resolving busbars, isolation hardware, rules-driven clearances, fasteners, and fabrication into one serviceable assembly.

System600 V / 80 kW
HV–LV clearance30 mm
Busbar basis60 A fused

01

Rules become geometry

I led the mechanical layout of the electrical components while maintaining the required high-voltage and low-voltage separation, integrating isolation relays and safety features, and keeping the assembly readable during technical inspection.

Packaging study for the accumulator attic and service clearances.

02

A current path you can manufacture

Copper busbars were sized through current and thermal calculations to control resistive loss and temperature rise. The enclosure, fasteners, and positive locking strategy were designed together around 6061-T6 aluminum, weight, repeatable fabrication, and service access.
